Gentle Winter Yoga Practice
This is a great opportunity for you to relax and recharge!
The chant, Hari Om, will warm you up from the inside out as it mimics our body's natural breathing pattern. Active music making also activates all areas of the brain, the functional MRI observations of this brain activation are astounding!
Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging looks at changes in the brain by imaging blood flow; more blood flow means more neural activity! When chanting you activate your brain's motor center, speech center, memory encoding, cerebral cortex, limbic system (which relates to emotion and mood), and on and on! Firing up your brain with live music making is a powerful shortcut to boosting mood, improving concentration, working on the breath, and preparing your body and mind to work together.
This class also has an extra long deep relaxation at the end so you can fully integrate the benefits of your class!
