How to make time for writing-ideas from the writer's desk at Three Dog Farm

Make sure to check out the end of the video-I read to you a snippet from my memoir-in-progress. Oooooo a sneak peek!

Now onto the topic du jour: Making time for writing isn't going to happen unless or until you make it a priority. That's it. No one--no publisher, agent, teacher, friend, or family member--has control over this except for YOU. Once you make the decision to write, start where you are and carve out what time you have.

Then, if you find you need or want more time to write, set yourself a "goal date" by which you will have made changes. It may take time to shift your work, family, and social obligations, but it IS possible

Lastly, make sure you let the people in your life know what your are doing and why it's important to you. You'll find so much more support if you share your dreams with your family, colleauges, and friends. I'm working on my memoir and have a deadline to finish and start shopping it around in Februray 2021.

Part of how I'm keeping my sanity is by sharing my process with you...writing can be lonely and it takes a long time to get my words into your hands.

These little videos make it more bearable for me, so thanks for the support! I'd love to hear from you: do you make time for your writing? How? How is it going? Much love, Gita
